Bridge 8 is a Social Enterprise Group which created Edinburgh's first canal-based outdoor activity centre, and provides activities such as canoeing, kayaking, archery, climbing and mountain-biking from their base by the Union Canal at West Calder.

Oliver Chapman Architects were appointed by Bridge 8 to develop a site-wide regeneration strategy alongside Harrison Stevens Landscape Architects, and to improve facilities to enhance visitor capacity and accessibility. These proposals involve flexible off-site construction techniques to accommodate the evolving needs of the centre as it continues to grow.
