Oliver Chapman Architects was appointed by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust to lead a team including urban designers, landscape architects, artists and transport consultants to deliver a charrette shaping the future of Kincardine, following the devastating loss of the local power station.

A four day long series of intensive design workshops and discussions took place in June 2017, bringing together local people, organisations and businesses to discuss how they would like their area to look and develop into a better place to live, work and visit.

The charrette was part funded by the Scottish Government, with match-funding from CRT and Fife Council.

The ongoing process will identify both short and long term projects, with any infrastructure proposals - such as traffic or road realignments - potentially taking up to ten or fifteen years.
